This privacy policy sets out how Galleon uses and protects any information that you give us when you use this website.

Galleon is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. Should we ask you to provide certain information by which you can be identified when using this website, then you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this privacy statement.

The term "Galleon" or "us" or "we" refers to the owner of the website. The term "you" refers to the user or viewer of our website.

Galleon may change this policy from time to time by updating this page. You should check this page from time to time to ensure that you are happy with any changes. This policy is effective from 05 March, 2008.

What we collect

We collect two major types of information: information regarding you and information regarding your in-game character.

Types of personal information we may ask you to supply: your e-mail address, your location, your gender, your timezone, and instant messenger names. Surrendering of this information is OPTIONAL with exception of a valid e-mail address. Please see the user agreement for more information on why a valid e-mail address is necessary.

Types of in-game character information we may ask for you to supply or that may be supplied for you: armour collected, attendance information, job levels, etc.

In addition to these, we also log information on each page you visit along with your IP address.

What we do with the information we gather

Most of the information we aquire is used merely for the purpose of displaying it on our website. This is necessary for the purposes of planning linkshell events, linkshell record keeping, etc.

We use IP addresses as a means of protecting our website from unauthorized access. We also may use this information to get in contact with an ISP about illegal behavior or to assist law enforcement where required by law. We do not use IP address for any other purpose.

Security

Where applicable, we safeguard your information from unauthorized viewing. We also take measures to prevent your data from being altered by unauthorized parties.

Cookies

Also note that the software places a cookie, a text file containing bits of information, such as your username and password, in your browser's cache. This is ONLY used to keep you logged in/out. The software does not collect or send any other form of information to your computer.

You can choose to accept or decline cookies. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline cookies if you prefer. This may prevent you from taking full advantage of the website.

Links to other websites

Our website may contain links to other websites of interest. However, once you have used these links to leave our site, you should note that we do not have any control over that other website. Therefore, we cannot be responsible for the protection and privacy of any information which you provide whilst visiting such sites and such sites are not governed by this privacy statement. You should exercise caution and look at the privacy statement applicable to the website in question.

Controlling your personal information

You can control the personally identifying information available through our website by merely not providing the information. Note that a valid e-mail address is required per Galleon's conditions for use.

You can control some of your in-game character information by not providing it to us. However, you may not control use of ALL of your in-game character information as displaying this information is important to the linkshell leadership for various reasons. If you do not wish for this to occur, do not apply to Galleon HNMLS.

We will not sell, distribute or lease your personal information to third parties unless we are required by law to do so.

If you believe that any information we are holding on you is incorrect or incomplete, please write to or email us as soon as possible. We will promptly correct any information found to be incorrect.

If you wish to be removed from our system, this can be arranged by contacting an administrator. Note, however, that for our protection we will not delete your user name or any IPs associated with your user name.
